NING*NING is the world's first utility-grade, grid-connected rooftop solar facility built within a socialized housing community. Located in Naic, Cavite, it generates clean energy for the national grid using the rooftops of homes at Pasinaya Homes Prime Central.

The project was recognized internationally and was honored by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. during his visit to the site in November 2025. His visit highlighted how renewable energy projects can be designed to serve both national energy goals and the welfare of the communities that host them.

What makes NING*NING distinctive is its core principle: the homeowners whose rooftops power the project should directly share in the value it creates. This is the foundation of Community Assurance Support.

Community Assurance Support is the structured program through which the benefits of the NING*NING project are returned to the Pasinaya Homes Prime Central community. It was previously known as Home Assurance Support (HAS). It is organized, documented, and designed to deliver sustained impact.

Security

The 2025 security program delivered the following:

A Public Address System was installed across the chapel and the entire community, enabling faster announcements and emergency communication for all residents. A patrol motorcycle with sidecar was purchased for community rounds, keeping watch over the neighborhood daily. Three electric tricycles and one electric bike were also provided for the official use of the HOA and homeowners. Uniforms were distributed to HOA officers, staff, and marshals, and handheld radio units were provided for faster coordination across the community. Floodlights were procured and installed throughout the community, ensuring streets and shared spaces are well-lit and safe after dark. CCTV cameras were installed to further strengthen safety within the community.

Education and Leisure

The 2025 education and leisure program covered the following:

School supplies were distributed to the youth of Pasinaya Homes Prime Central. Residents themselves volunteered to sort and pack the materials, turning the effort into a community activity. Air conditioning units were installed in the Day Care Center, Health Center, and HOA offices and conference room, making these shared spaces more comfortable and functional for everyone who uses them.

The Day Care Center underwent a full renovation and beautification specifically designed to meet the accreditation requirements of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO). The center now serves the youngest members of the community in a space that is safe, nurturing, and officially recognized.

From October to December, the program also supported a series of environmental, health, and wellness activities: a Trick or Treat recycling advocacy, weekly Zumba sessions, and a Recycled Parol-making Contest held during the Christmas season. These activities brought families together and kept the community spirit alive throughout the year-end.

These are not one-time gestures. They are ongoing commitments backed by documentation, multi-stakeholder accountability, and a shared agreement between SOLARIS, Joy~Nostalg Foundation, and the Pasinaya Homes Prime Central community.

The CAS turnover ceremony brought together the full range of partners whose support made the project possible.

The Department of Energy was represented by Assistant Secretary Mandy Romero. The Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund) was represented by Department Manager Tina Marie Gabiosa. The Barangay Council of Brgy. Sabang, the Pasinaya Homes Prime Central Homeowners Association, and members of the wider community were present to witness and affirm the commitments being turned over.

Their presence reflected the multi-stakeholder nature of NING*NING. Government, community, and private sector are aligned in purpose, with public-sector agencies serving as witnesses to the commitments made to homeowners.

The philosophy behind NING*NING is what Joy~Nostalg Group calls Redemptive Energy. It is the belief that renewable energy should do more than reduce emissions. It should restore trust, strengthen communities, and make progress more human.

Ateneo de Manila University has entered into a renewable energy supply arrangement through Jin Navitas Electric Corporation (JNEC), the retail electricity supply arm of Joy~Nostalg Group. It reflects a growing demand among institutions and consumers for renewable energy that carries proven social impact alongside its environmental credentials.

The Philippines faces a dual challenge: expanding clean energy access while ensuring that development uplifts, rather than bypasses, communities at the base of the economic ladder.

NING*NING offers a replicable answer. By using rooftops in a socialized housing community rather than competing for open land, it demonstrates that utility-scale solar energy can be pursued without displacing or excluding the people who need development most. The homeowners are not passive hosts. They are partners, and the project is designed to make that partnership felt.

NING*NING goes beyond renewable energy. It renews the quality of life of communities.

The CAS turnover is a milestone, not a conclusion. Joy~Nostalg Group has signaled that the same standard of community commitment will be expected across its other renewable energy projects. The NING*NING model is intended to grow.
